Help both laptop died..

Laptop Number 1 "Acer Aspire 4520"
WINDOWS XP
Acer Sucks Seriously... Umm 30 day windows XP trial times up and i cant get on it anymore.. Help? ( I would probably just reformat this again but this time i'd like to have windows vista on it please )

Somehow it just like died? i dont know how and why.. I cant open network and Sharing center which also has side effects.. I cant see my network icon on the taskbar(near clock thing)
and i also cant run things in admin cause the "Run as Admin" thing doesnt work (this is part where they have the TINGLING! sound and the background goes dark abit and it asks you wether you allow or dont allow the program, application or whatever u are trying to open. (in this case ijji Reactor)
And last night my bro did something to it.. Dont really know what and now we cant go into the user "jeremy" (why the hell his name why not both of us) anyways we cant get into "jeremy" and we can only go into "guest" I would reinstall Windows 7 but Dont delete my stuff i got approximately 15 gigs of anime in this laptop which is not in my TB yet..

he didnt even take it lol and my Acer has been fixed by the one and only me (thanks for the CD Nic eventho it didnt work i just used my old cd and failed 6 times in a row until it worked that took around 3 hours)
